- Awards Day will be Wednesday May 5th at 1:30pm
- FFA Banquet: FFA Banquet will be on Monday, May 3rd at 6pm. FFA members will be required to be there in official dress. To help with the banquet...Juniors are asked to bring a small container of lemonade mix to the ag room by Friday, April 30th. Sophomores and freshmen are asked to bring desserts to the gym by 5:50pm the night of banquet, so we can be seated and started by 6pm. If you have a student in both the sophomore and freshman class, you only need to bring one dessert total.
- FFA Barn Dance and Meal: The FFA is putting on the Barn Dance and Meal again at City Hall on Friday, May 21st. Meal is from 5:30pm-7:30pm, and the dance is from 7pm to 11pm. More details to come next week with items and workers needed.
- Students in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to attend a youth leadership experience, Connect Con, in the Black Hills this summer for free, sponsored by Bon Homme Yankton Electric. If interested, see Miss Fritz for details.
- For those going out for athletics next year and will be in the 7th, 9th, or 11th grade and did not do the ImPact baseline test this week, you must contact Erin Odens at 583-2227 to make an appointment and this must be done by May 14.
- Sports physicals for 2021-22. Students who will be in grades 6-12 next school year who want to compete in middle school or high school athletics can prepare by getting their physicals taken now. The student needs to have a physical form on record at the school with an actual physical being done every two years. The forms will be given to the students when they take their ImPact baseline test. The rest of you can get your forms from Sandy’s office or from Jim Kocer. The following clinics in Scotland will be giving physicals (call for an appointment): Scotland Medical Clinic (583-2227) or First Chiropractic Center (583-4288).
Students will not be allowed to practice or compete until the physical forms are in. All of the forms should be turned in to Sandy Freier’s office or to Jim Kocer at Scotland High School.
- EMPLOYMENT opportunities: The Hutchinson Conservation District is looking for summer employees to help with planting trees, laying fabric, and other odd jobs in Hutchinson County. Must be 16 years of age or older. Contact hutchcd@gwtc.net for more information.
- Scotland Youth Center is looking for high school students (16 years or older) to work at the Youth Center next school year. This is a paid position. Contact Kim Abbink at the Youth Center if you are interested.
- The Bon Homme County Highway Department is advertising for four summer help positions
