Highlander Happenings … Tu.Oct.19.2021

The Student Council would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the Hanson and Scotland Communities for supporting our bake sale for Jen Bierle as part of Dig Pink Night!  Do to the generosity of these two communities, we were able to raise $817 from the bake sale!  Another HUGE THANK YOU goes out to the volleyball team for letting us be a part of your event and to the Student Council Members, their families and SHS staff who donated items for the bake sale.  Without each and every one of you, this would not have been possible!

• Heart Screenings have been rescheduled for November 22. Forms are available in Sandy’s office and appointments should be made with her. The forms MUST be filled out and with the student at the time of the appointment. The cost is $89 for your first student and $44.50 for any additional students in your family. We MUST have at least 10 participants for this screening to happen. If you have not signed-up and still want to, please see Sandy!! 
• LDEs: If you have signed up, please get in touch with the team and Ms. Kaufmann for practice times ASAP. The first contest is Thursday, November 4th.
• Chapter FFA Meeting: The mandatory fruit sales meeting has been rescheduled for Mon.Oct.25 at 6pm in the ag room.
• National FFA Convention: Individuals going to National FFA Convention, reminder we leave on Tuesday, October 26th after the home volleyball game.

FFA Barn Dance, Amazing Race, and Meal: There are a lot of moving parts that make up this event taking place on Saturday, October 23rd at the City Hall. Please read carefully! Sign up for what you will be bringing or working. We ask everyone to help pitch in with this as it takes a lot of people to make this happen! The items can either be brought into school by the end of the school week or can be brought to City Hall on Friday, October 22nd from 8-10am.
