Scotland HS/MS/Elem News…

REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS: The LAST DAY OF SCHOOL is Fri.May.12 with Dismissal at 12:30pm. 

FFA OFFICER Interviews will be held on Wed.Apr.26 after school until all are completed… Please check your emails for details.

The SHS Student Council is sponsoring a Blood Drive in the Community Room on April 26 from 10:30am to 4:00pm.  Donors need to be 16 years old or older and weigh at least 120 pounds.  To register, please see Mrs. Fryda or logon to www.lifeservebloodcenter.org.  If you are 16 or 17 and this is the first time you would like to donate, please see Mrs. Fryda for a parent permission form.  The SHS Student Council thanks you for giving the gift of life!

Impact concussion test next week

Students who will be in grades 7, 9, and 11 this next school year (2023-24) and any new students who plan on going out for athletics plus all football players no matter what grade you will be in, must do the ImPact testing.   This is a baseline test which is used concerning concussion testing.   This test (done in the high school computer lab near the library) will be done on the following dates and times:

11th grade-Thursday, April 27, 7:30 a.m. If you missed your testing date on Monday or Tuesday of this week and are in Grades 7 or 9 PLEASE MAKE SURE TO COME IN THURSDAY TO DO YOUR TESTING.

Football players not in grades 7, 9, and 11, Friday, April 28, 7:30 a.m. (Anyone who did not do the ImPact testing this week and will be going out for football (no matter what grade you will be in) needs to do the test Friday morning at 7:30)

FFA Banquet: The Annual FFA Banquet will be on Monday, May 1st at 6pm in the Main Gym. This is mandatory for all FFA members, and all MUST be in complete official dress.

Trapper FBAll Meeting: Mon.May.1 at 12noon in the Community Room at Scotland. Coach Robb will provide the food, players are asked to bring their own water or soda. Meeting should last no longer than ½ hour.

SUMMER EMPLOYMENT – General Labor

Seeking ambitious high school students, between ages 16 – 18, for summer employment with MDS Mfg. Co., Parkston, to perform general labor for equipment installation.  Applicant will assist in installing and maintaining livestock equipment; unload and move equipment into position; must be able to lift 50 – 75 lbs. without assistance; be physically able to kneel, squat, bend and push/pull; perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned; follow safety rules and regulations.  Company will train the right applicant in the requirements of the job.  An application can be picked up at the Front Desk of MDS Mfg. or download from https://mdsmfg.com and email to HR@mdsmfg.com.   If there are any questions, please feel free to contact Gerri Day at 800-658-4703.

East River Leadership Camp: Any/all FFA members are invited to attend the East River Leadership Camp. This will take place at Swan Lake Camp on June 20th to 23rd. There are networking opportunities, brainstorming sessions, goal setting time, bonding activities, and so much more. It is a great time to meet other FFA members, grow as an individual, and bring back new ideas to the chapter. If you are interested in going, please let Ms. Kaufmann know by Wednesday, May 3rd so arrangements and details can go out before school is dismissed for the summer
