Congratulations to Britney Rueb who won the state wrestling championship at 113 pounds and to Turner Nicholson who placed seventh at 160 pounds. Britney was 30-1 on the year and Turner finished at 36-13. Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon finished in tenth place and in the state duals on Saturday they placed sixth. Tyrus Bietz also wrestled in the duals.
Any students grades 9-12, there will be a short Track meeting TODAY after school in the Lunch Room. We will have sign-up and some information to pass along.

Today we will be having our first Hope Squad meeting for the High School in the FACS classroom. This will be the normal time and location for meetings (Tuesdays). As discussed earlier, please dismiss the members a few minutes early to lunch so they can get their food in a timely manner; they will also typically be back to 5th period a few minutes late. Thank you for your flexibility with this, as a regular before or after school meeting was not possible with the students' schedules. I will make an announcement to students shortly. Congratulations to Turner Nicholson for placing third at the region wrestling tournament and qualifying for state. Britney Rueb will also be wrestling at state, and Tyrus Bietz will be wrestling at state in the dual tournament. The individual tournament is on Thursday and Friday, and the state duals are on Saturday at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. ALL MATCHES ARE STILL AVAILABLE TO STREAM FOR FREE at SDPB.ORG/WRESTLING You will not be able to directly access the stream from TrackWrestling.
Short GBB meeting today right after school in Mr. Janish’s room
Since we are a neutral site, we will be hosting the Region 5B Girls Basketball semi-finals Thursday, February 24. There will be two games: 6:00—Centerville vs. Freeman, 7:30—Viborg-Hurley vs. Irene-Wakonda. Ticket Takers: Rani Van Gorp and Denise Bruckner; Announcer/Clock for game one—Rob Schmitz, Announcer/Clock for game two—Chris McGregor; Shot Clock (both games)—Lisa Schmitz. Scorebook (both games)—Jane Janish; Concessions—Jr. Class; Administrators—Fallon Woods, Chris McGregor; National Anthem--?; Live-Steam—Nicole Suurmeier. Admission is $6.00—adults, $4.00—students (set by the SDHSAA). Doors open at 5:15 p.m.
