Red Ribbon Week is here! Red Ribbon Week is celebrated annually October 23-21 and is the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention awareness program. Red Ribbon Week began following the death of DEA Special Agent Enrigue Camarena who was kidnapped, tortured and murdered in 1985 by drug traffickers. As a tribute to Camarena, his friends created "Camarena Clubs" and wore red ribbons to show their oppositions to drugs.

Red Ribbon Week is here! Red Ribbon Week is celebrated annually October 23-21 and is the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention awareness program. Red Ribbon Week began following the death of DEA Special Agent Enrigue Camarena who was kidnapped, tortured and murdered in 1985 by drug traffickers. As a tribute to Camarena, his friends created "Camarena Clubs" and wore red ribbons to show their oppositions to drugs.
I am reaching out as the club director of the Corn Palace Area Club Volleyball. The club formed 12 years ago in Mitchell and our mission is to continue to spread the growth of volleyball. Currently, volleyball is the fastest growing sport in America which is pretty cool!!! The spring CPAC season runs from mid-March through beginning of May with tournaments being held within a couple hours of Mitchell. All practices are also held in Mitchell. The winter season runs mid-January through mid-March. Tryouts for our club will be held on November 27th here at Dakota Wesleyan University. The number of teams we are able to have depends on practice facilities and coaches available. CPAC is for 4th grade on up through 12th grade athletes. You can find more information on our website www.cpacvolleyball.com regarding cost, tryout times, etc. We also are very flexible with players missing practice for their spring sports. We love the multiple sport athlete and know how important they are especially in the smaller communities!! Please email me if you have any questions.
