Monday: School Board meeting 7pm in the community room; Monday is the last night of trap. Make sure you sign up for a time slot. If you need to make up any from track, please sign up for a second slot. If you still have raffle tickets, please bring them to Ms. Kaufmann ASAP.

Tuesday: Seniors last day, HS/MS TR @Fort Randall; JV/MS Golf @Gregory/Burke

Friday: HS Golf Regions @Mitchell; FFA Barn Dance and Meal: The FFA is putting on the Barn Dance and Meal again at City Hall on Friday, May 21st. Meal is from 5:30pm-7:30pm, and the dance is from 7pm to 11pm. Anyone who wants to help decorate, please be at City Hall on Friday, May 21st at 10am.

May 28-29th: State TR @Rapid City

May 31st: Memorial Day services 10:30am in the main gym

May 31-June 4th: Girls’ State @USD and Boys’ State @ Aberdeen

June 7 & 8: State Golf @Brookings

  • Barn Dance Committee: Meetings will be held on Tuesday, May 11th during lunch and Friday, May 14th at 7:45am.
  • The following people have overdue books from the library.  Please take care of this ASAP:  Rachel Rowe and Kennedy Bietz.  Just a reminder that all materials have to be in the library before you will be able to check out of school.
  • Summer Art Classes are being offered to 2021-22 K-12 students this summer.  A schedule is posted in the lunch room with dates & times.  Please pick up a registration from Sandy and return to the office by Monday afternoon. 
  • Students in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to attend a youth leadership experience, Connect Con, in the Black Hills this summer for free, sponsored by Bon Homme Yankton Electric. If interested, see Miss Fritz for details.
  • For those going out for athletics next year and will be in the 7th, 9th, or 11th grade and did not do the ImPact baseline test this week, you must contact Erin Odens at 583-2227 to make an appointment and this must be done by May 14. 
  • Sports physicals for 2021-22.  Students who will be in grades 6-12 next school year who want to compete in middle school or high school athletics can prepare by getting their physicals taken now.  The student needs to have a physical form on record at the school with an actual physical being done every two years.  The forms will be given to the students when they take their ImPact baseline test.  The rest of you can get your forms from Sandy’s office or from Jim Kocer. The following clinics in Scotland will be giving physicals (call for an appointment): Scotland Medical Clinic (583-2227) or First Chiropractic Center (583-4288).

 Students will not be allowed to practice or compete until the physical forms are in.   All of the forms should be turned in to Sandy Freier’s office or to Jim Kocer at Scotland High School.

  • Awards Day will be Wednesday May 5th at 1:30pm
  • FFA Banquet: FFA Banquet will be on Monday, May 3rd at 6pm. FFA members will be required to be there in official dress.  To help with the banquet...Juniors are asked to bring a small container of lemonade mix to the ag room by Friday, April 30th. Sophomores and freshmen are asked to bring desserts to the gym by 5:50pm the night of banquet, so we can be seated and started by 6pm. If you have a student in both the sophomore and freshman class, you only need to bring one dessert total.

  • Scotland Youth Center is looking for high school students (16 years or older) to work at the Youth Center next school year.  This is a paid position.  Contact Kim Abbink at the Youth Center if you are interested.
  • The Bon Homme County Highway Department is advertising for four summer help positions

  • It is time to take out petitions for the 2021-2022 Student Council offices.  Petitions can be picked up from Mrs. Fryda and petitions are due to Mrs. Fryda by 3:00pm on Friday, April 23.  Elections for officers will be held during first period on Thursday, April 29, during class meetings.
